De 2008 a 2011 formé parte del grupo de artistas y gestores culturales de diversas nacionales que crearon esta organización sin fines de lucro. Yo era la encargada de:
- Programar y organizar exposiciones de arte, talleres, sesiones de información y otras actividades relacionadas con las artes.
- Crear el sitio web y el boletín electrónico mensual.
- Contactar a nuevos artistas canadienses.

Presentation of traditional and contemporary Brazilian music by Evandro Gracelli and Vinicius Degenaro during the exhibition.
Gracelli is a composer who sings, plays guitar and cavaquinho and deals with songs and improvised music. In 2004 Gracelli released his first album, "Urucum", a much acclaimed work. Degenaro is a great classical guitar player, both together leads the audience to a special place. Thanks to Cultural Services, City of Ottawa for sponsoring the musicians.

BELONGING, Canadian artists celebrating cultural richness
The Coalition of New Canadians for Arts and Culture (CNCAC) is pleased to announce their Spring Contemporary Art Exhibition: BELONGING, Canadian artists celebrating cultural richness with the participation of thirty (30) Canadian artists originally from 18 different countries from around the world.
This group exhibition includes a variety of mediums, acrylic, water colour, mixed-media, photography, installations, paper collages, glass and metal tapestry.
Join us for the two openings. Meet the artists on May 30th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and June 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Enjoy also live music. On May 30th, Vasili Kosenko and Sergei Rozin-Gurevich will play Eastern European music. On June 3rd the Brazilians Evandro Gracelli and Vinicius Degenaro will lead the audience to a special place.

Vasili Kosenko and Sergei Rozin-Gurevich (Eastern European music).
Kosenko was born in Ukraine. He is the author of a collection of songs which constitute the sound track of the video production “Cities of Ukraine”. Kosenko was a finalist of the International CHIN Radio show and he is the author of lyrics and music of songs from the collection “Gypsy Trail”.

ARTIST’S WORDS:
- Batya Cavens (Israel): I am what I paint, what I paint is me. My paintings are aggressive, brutal and raw.
- Bozica Radjenovic (Serbia): Shoes are the only object that we shape by repetitive usage, eventually taking on a personality of their own. They can mysteriously represent human presence even when we are absent.
- Carlos Tamayo (Colombia): Artistic expression to symbolize the evolution of consciousness and sensitivity to the environment.
- Carlos Navarro (Mexico): Beauty is often related with play.
- Caroline Gomersall (England): My photographic portrait project addresses historical stereotyping and perceptions of aboriginal peoples; by allowing the model to instruct me on how they wished to be portrayed I created a contemporary series of portraits that question old stereotyping.
- Carolina Hernandez (Mexico): At the beginning of my research, my main concern was the link between animal and man; their rapport, and especially the manifestations of anxiety, pain and suffering as a direct cause of man’s actions. Now, my exploration does not solely reflect in this area, but also at the level of activity of each individual and the manner in which his state of mind and egocentric behaviors influence the environment. In my work my objective is to create the link between humans and other living beings: the pain, the suffering, the anxiety, and the joy are all examples of my dialectic for exploring the nature and the human condition through the « animal’s eyes ».
- Chiko Chazunguza (Zimbabwe): A reflection of some of life’s gifts.
- Dalia Mendoza (Mexico): In order to create, I am inspired by the wealth of expression and the mystery that is hidden in faces and within the human body. I allow myself to be guided by my past and am inspired by the cultural and spiritual diversity of the many people of the world. I am interested in the visual expression of popular imagination, the signs of human communication, and the perceived and symbolic figures that inspire new inventions. In the rhythm and pace of the human body, I find the relationship between the Being and the magnificence of the Universe.
- Eiko Emori (Japan): I employ pâte de verre, lampworking, and fusing and slumping glass-making techniques in my studio. With the fused and slumped glass vessels, I aim to achieve the tradition and spirit of Japanese tableware. A major aspect of Japanese cooking is the presentation, where containers play an important role.
- Elsa Gallegos (Mexico): To me, painting is life itself: the dream, the challenge, the passion … the very core of living. Along the road travelled in learning how to express myself through the medium of painting, I’ve explored numerous styles and various techniques. While staying grounded in the tradition of realism, I’ve always attempted to nonetheless connect the awareness of the observer with the feelings embedded in Mexican and Canadian culture.
- Erika Deruaz (Switzerland): Painting fills a need in my life, recreating on paper or canvas what I see around me or in my mind. My inspiration comes from the outside as well as from my moods and past experiences.
- Fortunée Shugar (Egypt): I allow my creativity to flow blindly, using hand painted papers and other mixed media to create abstract collages.
- Gabriela Condrut (Romania): THE VOICES. This is an effort to associate two art forms, visual and sound. Both art forms use attributes as rhythm, texture, color and flow to communicate to us. In these works I tried to personify few voices.
- Gilda Pontbriand (Mexico): The series ‘’Ancient Symbols’’ portrays the mysticism of the Pre Columbian people. Every action was symbolic for those cultures and my work presents a glimpse into their magical world.
- Hamid Ayoub (Sudan): Throughout my journey as an artist, I have discovered great thematic support in the “Humanities.” Inspired by the field, I arrive to contribute without reservation to the global arts community, immaterial of political, racial, religious or gender considerations by respecting and regarding the human spirit.
- Jasmine Kukic (Serbia): Jasmine Kukic explores the realm of sensibility through her eclectic collages which present an intricate view of human condition: people constrained by time, stretched between conscious and unconscious, determined by the past, perplexed by their dreams and desires, in the eternal reach for the unknown.
- Juan Manuel Vasquez (Guatemala): Narración visual y espiritual de una experiencia personal. Visual and spiritual narration of a personal experience.
- Luis E. Molina (Colombia): “Couples” deals with the failed project of communication. In spite of this failure, people continually search for alternative ways to connect with each other. The paintings dialogue with some of these attempts.
- Luminita (Lou) Serbanescu (Romania): I have been storing beautiful images in my mind forever! After a while, when the memory became too small for the amount of beauty I collected, I felt the need to paint! It was not a choice, it was a hunger! My paintings are stories where the main character is the light! I paint for you, to interpret the beauty I see around me, so you could see how the light changes everything, to make you stop and see this beauty that makes me alive!
- Margit Hideg (Romania): My art is an act of building and self-discovery. It has evolved from the belief that in this fragmented world, the most important thing I can do is to create my own artistic language. Regardless of what medium I choose for my expression, digital or the flat surface of paper, I am searching for a meaning that reflects our relationship with the universe. In this life of illusionary realities created by mass media, something is missing. Because of our lack of feeling, we stand in danger of being isolated. This is the reason why I am trying to bring people back to nature and to poetry.
- Maria Gomez Umaña (Colombia): My Time Boxes are and attempt to make time for myself and for others in need. They are an instrument to be gently shaken to dispense different amounts of the precious substance onto the beholder. They are a group of objects that belong together on a dark wall, to be seen as a whole piece. They could however, be purchased separately.
- Maria Kuzmina (Russia): Photographic artist who uses motion to create personal impressions of her subjects and express interpretation of the world around her, she achieves this by moving the camera while pressing the shutter release.
- Rola Bleik (Lebanon): I tried to draw inspiration from my own cultural traditions, using techniques and incorporating imagery and ideas that reinvents traditional art as it becomes more clearly a vehicle for personal expression. It can also be seen as a way to build creative links between the past, the present, and the future.
- Romeo Rios (Guatemala): Unity in diversity, just like the universe.
- Teresa Rozkiewicz (Venezuela): Drawing from my experience of living among many fascinating cultures around the world, I have developed a rich visual vocabulary which I use to express my artistic feelings. Through my mixed media work and paintings I document experiences of everyday life, my work is an interpretation of new contexts, circumstances, and surroundings.
- Vladimir Frolov (Russia): We live in a world that always leaves something behind our perceptional abilities. Some of my spiritual and artistic views are close to the idea of a Japanese rock garden.
- Vladimir Valiente (El Salvador): About the paper boats…. Being is a metamorphosis of events in life that leads us to the place or places where we sometimes find external peace and peace of mind. The paper boat is a metaphor I use to represent that mystical travel to that special place between earth and the sublime and back again. Being a human being is that fragile trip to the unknown, it is destiny within destiny. It is someone’s life and everybody’s game. It is the essence of life and its true beginning and its true end. It’s a child’s dream within a dream. The boat ride is that trip that we all must take in order to survive.
- Yu Ruirong (China): In the forest in the first month of summer, a pair of golden pheasants take shelter and speak of love.
- Zeynep Ergincan (Turkey): Art is a reflection of our thoughts in shape, colour and texture.
- Zivana Kostic (Serbia): My recent exhibition, presented in Belgrade, Serbia, with 45 works, metal tapestries, was as the subject of connection between old Etruscan and Vincha scripts with Nordic Runes. Etruscan script is done on blue silk, and the Runes on white silk.
