ARTPRENEUR 2013 is a collaborative effort between AOE Arts Council, Ottawa School of Art, the Shenkman Arts Centre and Wallack’s Art Supplies. The Conference Committee is dedicated to ensuring that the content, format and atmosphere of the conference:
- bring current and relevant business information to artists of all disciplines;
- be affordable and accessible to all artists;
- emphasize the importance of the arts in the economy;
- assist artists in becoming sustainable artists; and
- encourage youth into choosing a career in the arts.

Serving the Ottawa creative scene for over 25 years, AOE Arts Council has connected artists with audiences, played a pivotal role in the construction of the Shenkman Arts Centre and founded the ARTicipate Endowment Fund.
AOE’s membership continues to grow because our team is dedicated to supporting and promoting all art disciplines.

OTTAWA SCHOOL OF ART
The Ottawa School of Art offers a full range of specialized art courses including lifedrawing, landscape painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, lithography, watercolour, etching, printmaking, and a wide variety of specialized short courses and workshops. Children’s and Teens’ classes range from multi-media to animation and cartooning, sculpture and construction, pottery, drawing and painting. In addition to art courses, the OSA’s programs have grown to include visiting artist-in-residence workshops, a professional exhibitions gallery (which hosts solo and groups shows by local, national and international artists), a non-for-credit Arts Fundamentals Certificate, a one-year Portfolio Development Program and a 3-year Diploma Program.
SHENKMAN ARTS CENTRE
The Shenkman Arts Centre is Ottawa’s only multidisciplinary arts facility offering services and programs in both English and French. The Centre, which is located in Ottawa East, is a creative hub where artists and audiences meet to create and explore the arts. The Centre, which opened in June 2009, plays a vital role in ensuring artists are given the forum they need to nurture creativity and audiences are given access to dynamic and thought-provoking arts programming in a facility that matches creative excellence.
Wallack’s has been serving the Ottawa community since 1939 when Samuel Wallack started selling photographic supplies, picture framing and artist’s materials. Today, Wallack’s is eastern Ontario’s largest retailer of artist materials with three locations in the Ottawa area, one in Kingston and two in the Gatineau region.
